POSTPONED - SPEED HUMP APPLICATIONS OPENS WEDNESDAY, 9/16 AT 8AM SHARP!

UPDATE!  At this time, this "Cycle 7" application process has been postponed and will reopen as soon as funding for the program is more certain. In short, this portal to intake requests will NOT be available at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 as previously anticipated.

This is not a decision the Department came to easily, and we understand the timing is difficult. However, we do not want to mislead the public by accepting applications we may not be able to fund construction thereafter.

This postponement does not affect previously approved applications, and we will continue to prioritize outstanding applications as funding becomes available.

Mark your calendars!  Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m., LADOT will initiate a new round of the city speed hump application cycle.  The application will close when 450 applications (30 in each council office) have been submitted. This number allows our limited staff to study all the applications in a "batch" and build in a "batch" as efficiently as possible.

Residents may petition the department for the construction of speed humps at new locations provided that certain criteria are met. The filing window, which occurs biannually, will continue until the set threshold for requests is met.
