The Voices Neighborhood Council of South Central Los Angeles, is seeking local Artists to help give color to the local utility boxes. Voices will be accepting applications of individual artists or group of artists through November 20, with a deadline of 5 p.m., applicants are invited to submit up to three conceptual renderings for consideration.
The Neighborhood Council is awarding a $750 stipend to four artists or group to showcase their work with the community. Artists will be selected by the Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee based on established criteria such as appropriateness of scale, form and content, as well as artistic excellence. Stipend does not include cost of supplies.
To apply please complete these steps by November 20, 2020: 1. Download and read the LADOT guidelines for all acceptable art work.
2. Download the required utility box template.
3. Submit a short biography to be features on the
VoicesNC.org website. The biography will be posted if the art work is selected by the Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee.
