Councilmember Curren Price, in partnership with the GUARDaHEART Foundation, will be offering no cost COVID-19 antibody testing to District 9 neighbors beginning today, Tuesday, Oct. 13 through Thursday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at his District Office (4301 S. Central Ave.) A positive result suggests an individual may have COVID-19 antibodies and has developed an immune response to the virus.
There is still time to register for the no cost COVID-19 antibody test in South LA:
Councilman Price recently sat down with Dr. Douglas S. Harrington MD, Fellow of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology and Chairman of the GUARDaHEART Foundation, for an informative discussion on COVID-19 antibody testing and to announce the special testing opportunity in District 9. Watch the full interview courtesy of our friends at Channel 35 by clicking on the image above.
Free parking is available for the public at: Phillips Temple CME Church, 973 E. 43rd St., Los Angeles 90011 (1 block west of the testing site). The lot will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing being provided in CD 9 is one of the most reliable antibody tests available with a sensitivity of 100 percent and a specificity of 99.6 percent performance evaluations. This opportunity is for asymptomatic (not exhibiting any signs or symptoms of active infection) patients only or patients who suspect they may have come in contact with the virus or experienced symptoms weeks or months ago but were never tested.
