Estuardo David Mazariegos is a committed community organizer with 12 years of experience working on community and labor campaigns. Estuardo immigrated from Guatemala in 1988 and gained his political education on the streets of Los Angeles. In 1992, Estuardo witnessed the LA rebellion which forever influenced his view of race and justice in this country.
During Estuardo’s 10 year community organizing career, he developed neighborhood-based campaigns in Long Beach, South Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Estuardo has been part of establishing two community land trusts in South Central Los Angeles, first as an organizer with Trust South Los Angeles and currently as a board member for Liberty Community Land Trust.
Pre-Covid 19 Estuardo was the statewide external organizer with SEIU-USWW where he worked to unionize non-union janitors throughout California.
Community leadership, community-lead development, popular education and community ownership is important to Estuardo.
The Voices Neighborhood Council is made up of individuals from our community who
are interested in improving and maintaining the quality of life of the stakeholders of Voices.
